The third grade Science curriculum concentrates on the concepts in the physical and earth sciences based on the Michigan Goals and Objectives.

· Physical Science / Chemistry and Physics
· Earth and Space Science / Geology and Earth Science

The third grade studies animal and plant life cycles, the solar system, energy and its uses, the Earth's water, roles of living things within their environment and with one another, and food and digestion. Instruction is based upon the Constructivist Learning model in which students are encouraged to, using hands-on activities and scientific method, construct connections and create meaning in the world around them
